The performance combination of a powerful and much torqueier engine in a lightweight and agile chassis is sure to make the 250 XC-F the star of the show for the future. Features may include: ENGINE The new 250 XC-F engine is based on the similar overall design of its predecessor, with some major refinements to make this power plant more compact and lighter, with the production of improved torque and power across the entire rpm range. Perhaps one of the most impressive benefits of the new design is a weight reduction of 2 lbs, while still including the incredibly beneficial electric starter. The reworked engine guarantees an improved power curve over the entire rev range up to 14,000 rpm, which makes the new 250 XC-F a winner for both amateur and professional riders. CYLINDER HEAD The centerpiece of the compact DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine is the new cutting-edge cylinder head. It features improved combustion chamber geometry, two 150 g lighter overhead camshafts with new timing, plus a friction-optimized super-fine surface, new finger followers with a 30 % harder DLC coating and a reworked timing drive (friction reduced and shorter DID timing chain, new sprockets and chain guides). New valve springs and retainers for the four lightweight titanium valves (intake 32.5 mm, exhaust 26.5 mm) and high-flow ports create a maximized flow rate for an optimal power band and maximum performance, all the way up to a redline of 14,000 rpm. CYLINDER & PISTON In the reworked and shorter cylinder that has a bore of 78 mm, is a weight-reduced, forged bridged box-type piston made by CP. It features a unique piston shape adapted to the new combustion chamber and stands out with its extra-rigid structure, combined with a low weight. The compression ratio is at 14.4:1. Thanks to the low oscillating masses, the engine offers extremely lively characteristics. COUNTER BALANCER SHAFT In order to balance the mass-forces, the new 250 XC-F engine uses a multifunctional counter balance shaft that also drives the water pump and timing chain. It features new sprockets fitted to the new timing chain. ELECTRIC STARTER The new 250 XC-F is fitted with an electric starter as standard, which a clear advantage in the heat of battle. A new starter motor made by Mitsuba (modified for easy disassembly) and a weight-reduced starter drive guarantees more efficient and reliable starting. 2009 KTM 250 XC-FW. 110 hours. 2 (adult) owners. Never raced. All stock except for a couple of reliability upgrades such as new cam tensioner and front sprocket domed washer. Currently setup for riders 6'2" and taller, it has a Enduro Engineering tall seat, ROX pivoting risers and longer clutch and throttle cables. All easily removed to convert back to the stock riding position, all parts for that included. Also currently setup with headlight (high/low beam), brake and tail light. Wired for turn signals and horn. Does not however come with street title only a certificate of origin (which can be converted to a street title).

Top-end refreshed this winter with new piston/rings/gaskets & valve adjustment. Oil/filters/bearings changed regularly, very well maintained. Includes barkbusters & KTM plastic quick-release skid plate. Will be sold with Title, owner's/service manual, and aftermarket front/rear light kit (new, never installed). Mechanically excellent - Tires are good and bike is ready to rip - still plenty of riding time for someone this year!

The power plant, the optminzed frame and the new bodywork make the 250 XCF-W a champion's bike. Features May Include: ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) The Engine Management System by Keihin with electronic fuel injection via a 42mm throttle body ensures a snappy response and maximum engine performance. An oil-cooled 196 W alternator provides sufficient energy for the fuel injection, lighting and other electrical loads. With an optional map-select switch from the Power Parts program, the EMS can allow the rider to select different engine characteristics. In addition, the optional User-Setting-Tool provides the ability to readout engine data with a laptop and change the ignition and injection mapping with just a few mouse clicks. DDS CLUTCH The one-piece basket of the DDS clutch (damped diaphragm steel) is machined from solid high-tensile steel in one solid part together with the primary drive gear. This process guarantees unbeatable reliability and, together with the thin steel linings, contributes to the narrow engine width due to a compact rivet-less design. The diaphragm spring makes it possible to implement an additional rubber damping system inside the clutch hub, ensuring reliability for the transmission and excellent traction. Finally, the hydraulic clutch mechanism by Brembo in conjunction with the diaphragm spring provides a very light clutch operation and controllable modulation. CYLINDER HEAD The centerpiece of the DOHC engine is its cylinder head with two overhead camshafts and DLC coated followers. The large, flow optimized ports in combination with large intake valves ensure a high flow rate, which in turn provides significant performance. The camshafts have been designed to achieve maximum power and torque figures while maintaining an off-road specific power delivery. HANDLEBAR All XC-W models are fitted with super strong, tapered Neken handlebars made of high tensile aluminum alloy that can be mounted in four positions. Standard equipment hand guards made of a new 2-component polymer for durability and effective hand protection. FUEL TANK The large capacity fuel tank is constructed of lightweight polyethylene and specifically designed for off-road use.
